Understand Your IM® Barcodes
With the Mail Verifier Plus

By now you may have received a postcard (below) explaining the new benefits of BCC's Mail Verifier Plus (MVP) barcode analyzer, and how it can improve your mailing efficiency.

Mail Verifier Plus

New advanced software technology features give the ability to analyze each separate component of the barcode-Barcode ID, Special Services, Mailer ID, Serial Number and ZIP Code-to help users verify that the correct services have been activated as part of the mailing. Additionally, the MVP will now be able to analyze Intelligent Mail container tags to check their compliance with Postal Service™ regulations.

To learn more about the MVP, contact your BCC Account Executive (see information at right for details).

Problems with Data Services?
Microsoft Setting Could Be the Issue

Data Services customers using a Microsoft Windows XP, Service Pack 2 or higher system may notice communication disruptions between your system and the BCC Data Services servers. Data Execution Prevention (DEP) has been known to cause connection and downloading issues between Mail Manager products when transferring and downloading data.

If you are experiencing Data Services connection issues, please follow these steps in order to eliminate DEP as the possible cause:

  1. Go to the Start Menu and right click on "My Computer" (Or "Computer," if running Vista/Microsoft 7)
  2. Select "Properties"
  3. Go to the Advanced tab and under Performance, select "Settings"
  4. Go to the Data Execution Prevention tab
  5. Select "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select"
  6. Select "Add" and browse until you find the Mailman.exe which should be stored in your main installation folder. Click "Open"
  7. Make sure the box next to your Mail Manager product is checked and click "Apply" and "OK"

Running this process may require you to reboot your computer, but it will help eliminate one of the causes of connection issues to BCC Data Services. For more assistance, contact Customer Support at (800) 624-5234.

Register Now for NPF

There's still time to register for the National Postal Forum, April 11-14 in Nashville, TN. Attendees who register by March 26 will receive a postcard from BCC that may contain a winning number embedded in the Intelligent Mail® barcode. When you bring that card to Booth #132, a BCC representative will scan the card with an on-site Mail Verifier Plus to determine whether it contains the winning number for a $500 American Express gift card.

A variety of seminars and special events make this year's NPF an important industry show. To set up an appointment with a BCC representative while you're at the Postal Forum, contact your BCC Account Executive (see below).
